Biography

As a passionate advocate, Kirsty is highly attuned to the unique needs and challenges confronting you in sensitive matters of family law. Whether you are seeking assistance with a divorce, child custody, or other family-related legal matters, Kirsty understands you need support throughout your entire case.

Kirsty earned a social work degree as a precursor to her law degree and understands the respective skills of the profession are helpful in the practice of law including interviewing, empathetic listening, identification of client’s goals, and crisis intervention. The professions of social work and law complement each other well, and Kirsty’s education and skills from both provide a valuable resource to addressing client’s overlapping social and legal needs.

During her time in law school, she was involved with an array of school and community projects. In addition to her law degree, Kirsty also received a Child Welfare Certificate, which specialized in child welfare issues, courtroom advocacy, trauma-informed practices, and secondary trauma in the legal system. She was recognized for her dedication to social justice with a certification from the Law School Public Service Program for completing over 150 hours of pro bono work with the Minnesota Justice Foundation.

Kirsty also served as Mitchell Hamline’s Student Bar Association Vice President; Chair of the Student Bar Association Student Services Committee; Chair of the Alumni Board Committee; Chair of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee; and played an active role in the development of the First-Generation Law Student Sub-Committee.
